Iron and steel foundry

Foundry Shop in Sydney

Over 135 years of Foundry experience John Heine manufacture superior quality castings with a high customer service and delivery. The foundry produces ferrous castings in many specifications from grey iron, nodular or SG iron, high Ni and high Cr wear resistant alloys, through to alloy steels, manganese steels and stainless steel. Components are produced for the mining, quarrying and power generation industries in abrasive resistant irons. The company also casts and machines slurry pumps in hard wearing chrome alloy irons. Our aim is to tailor a product and grade to suit individual companies, to provide special design and metallurgy to benefit customers requirements

An Inductotherm twin crucible induction furnace enables a wide variety of ferrous castings to be made up to about 15 tonnes in iron and 7 tonnes in steel. John Heine offers internal Patternmaking, Casting, Heat Treatment, Machining and Lab Testing.

The foundry uses Solid Works for managing CAD drawing files and AFS Solidcast for modelling the solidification of castings prior to manufacture in order to ensure sound castings

The John Heine foundry casts white irons and manganese steels for wear parts in the mining, quarrying, power generation and general engineering industries

Some specifications offer greater impact strength whilst others offer greater abrasion resistance
