Combined with a century of experience in machine tool manufacture and superior technology, John Heine has become synonymous with high precision iron and steel
castings, specialising in wear resistant alloys for the quarry and mining
industries.
The foundry uses AutoCad Inventor for managing CAD drawing files and AFS
Solidcast for modelling the solidification of castings prior to manufacture in
order to ensure sound castings. A glow discharge spectrometer is used to
monitor the melt to ensure compliance with specifications. Ceramic runners
and filters are used to ensure cleanliness of the metal in the mould. The
induction furnaces are designed to tilt backwards for slag removal, prior to
forward tilting for tapping out over a clean lip. Castings are heat
treated in one of the PLC controlled gas ovens with multiple thermocouples
connected to a print recorder for monitoring temperatures of individual castings
inside the furnace. Machining of the castings is done in-house, where CNC
programs are generated on a Cam Works / Solid Works CAM package.
HEINEHARD
John Heine has developed a number of specialised High Chrome White Iron specifications with
complementary heat treatment procedures to give superior wear properties over the
traditional range of
high chrome irons. Please talk to our sales people about your special
requirements and we can tailor a grade to suit your application.
